Sometimes, for some inexplicable reasons our PC units or notebooks crash. And we can’t seem to figure out why. Sometimes, non-stop error messages flash on the screens and we just want to throw our monitors out the window. Outlook prompts never-endingly for a password and user name and you type it again and again. I though viruses are the culprit for these problems. Thus, I would download or buy anti-virus software. However, the problems do not seem to go away. Until I discovered that there is such a thing called registry cleaner. I am the type of person who does not go for mediocrity, especially when it comes to my computer. I only want the best registry cleaner for my PC. A registry is something like a memory bank on a computer that records everything the unit has gone through such as files, programs and software downloaded and deleted, and a whole lot more. And sometimes, they still carry unnecessary files which can cause the problems that make you want to pound a hammer on your computer. If you’re amazing with computers, you probably already know about registers and can edit registers directly. If you can do this by yourself, why not? Just be careful because you might delete a file that is very important to your system. Always back-up your registry so you always have something to return to when something does not go according to your cleaning plan. Luckily, there are best registry cleaners out there. The most common Windows OS system used – before Vista came in the picture – is Windows XP. There are registry cleaners that can address the problem of messy registries. However, this cleaning is not without risks. There is always a chance that a vital file can be deleted while cleaning. It is very important, therefore, to back up the registry before doing any “dusting.” You can choose from a variety of registry cleaners – from extensive to simple, from paid to free. One of the best registry cleaners is RegCure. It is said to be effective and safe – not causing unnecessary problems. There is a trial version of this cleaner so you can test it out and it can scan your registry for errors and delete the unnecessary files. Pcmag.com has rated Registry Fixer as the best registry cleaner in terms of speed, fixes, safety, bonus features, and user interface. Other cleaners that were rated are Registry First Aid, Registry Mechanic, Reg Organizer, RegSupreme, and Complete Registry Cleaner. There are also free registry cleaners like CCleaner, and EasyCleaner which can pretty much do the same job for free. You can also go to www.100kb.com. The software claims that it can address errors in connection to ActiveX controls, DLL issues, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer errors, Runtime, Outlook, and other system problems. However, if you are not really good with computers, you should opt to have it fixed by an expert or in a local repair shop just to be sure. You might cause more errors or even cause your unit to not boot if you make a mistake in your cleaning the registry. It is always better safe than sorry. So, is it time to clean up your registry?

Your computer’s configuration, preferences and settings are all stored in what is called a Registry. There are two ways to edit this – one is the soft-ware based such as using the Control Panel, and the other is editing it directly using Registry Editor. Windows XP registry tweaks the settings in your computer in order for it to function well.

To launch the registry editor, just type regedit.exe in the run function. This will bring you to the Registry editor.

What are the advantages if windows XP registry tweaks your system? Well, you can tweak your registry to make your desktop menu load faster; you can make printing, creating shortcuts, and changing title bars. These functions range from simple to complicate. If you do not have confidence and the competence enough to do this, please do not even try.

Tweaking your registry require complicated codes using keys and values. This needs your utmost care and attention to detail because if you make an error, you can cause major problems to your pc units. It is also highly recommended that you back up your registry before you make any changes. In this way, you can go back to your previous settings if something goes wrong.

There are a number of registry edits such as changing the title bar of your Internet Explorer and change it with your own customized window title. You can also do this with your Media player, however, this is more complicated. You can also block programs from running such as blocking messenger to run on Outlook.

If you are constantly being asked to enter your password in your Outlook, you can address this problem by tweaking your registry. Actually, a lot of the nuisance computer problems can be solved by editing the registry. Sometimes, deleted and outdated programs are still hiding in the registry, you just need to delete it.

There are also desktop registry edits that you can utilize to make your programs run faster such as getting rid of the fading effect that Start menus have in Windows XP. You can also tweak your Start menu’s most frequently used programs to contain only those you really need. You can also choose whether to display the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop. Increasing the speed of the display of your menu is also one edit you can make.

There are also edits that are of no use but helps you customize such as changing the name of My Computer and renaming other icons in your desktop. You can also edit your registry so that it will sort the programs in your Start Menu alphabetically – really, you don’t need to do any of this but it’s more fun if windows XP registry tweaks the setting of your system!

Editing or tweaking your register is a great way to customize your computer unit according to your needs in order to be more efficient in your work, and even in your play. There are many smart computer people out there willing to share their knowledge in tweaking registers. Elder geek is one such person. Log on to http://www.theeldergeek.com/registry_edits.htm to get step by step assistance in tweaking your Windows register.

Windows is the most used operating systems for computers and notebooks nowadays. After installing Windows OS, usually Windows XP or the latest Windows Vista, computer users don’t stop there. They also download programs, install them, and maybe in the future delete them.

PC users also want to personalize their units and make it to work faster and better. There is an easy way to do it – with caution. There is such a thing called Windows Registry which is the blueprint of Windows system. In the registry, you can locate all the settings you have made in your unit and also all the programs. The Registry is updated each time settings are changed even with minor commands such as changing your screen saver.

You can edit the Registry indirectly when you do actions such as uninstall programs. This is called software-based. Most PC users are familiar with this. One way to do this is to use the Control Panel in the Start menu to make changes in your registry. You may not see the registry changing directly but it will update to include the changes you have made.

There are also other ways on how to open registry editor. This is relatively easy, however, it needs careful attention because one misstep and you can seriously screw up your Registry causing your pc unit to not start up. If you are not very computer literate, experimenting on how to open registry editor is not suggested. Better leave this to the technicians and computer experts.

These are helpful steps on how to open registry editor. To open your Registry, click on the Start menu, choose the run option and then type regedit.exe. This will launch your Registry editor. The Registry is divided into two panes, one for the keys and one for the values. It will look very complicated to the average PC user so please proceed with caution.

If you are new to this function, please do more research to avoid unnecessary damage to your registry and possibly causing you more expenses and difficulty. You can find helpful articles on the Internet that will assist you as you edit your registry to your advantage. You can also contact your local technician or if you have a friend who’s good with computers, maybe you can ask them to help you out.

You can also use user-friendly software to edit your Registry such as TweakUI. You can download this at the Microsoft Powertoys for free. This will provide you right to use to settings not normally found in your default interface. This requires Windows XP or a Windows Server 2003.

Another important reminder, do not neglect to back up your Registry first before you edit it, just in case you screw up. You can do this by using the registry hive files which saves an image of your registry keys and make sure you can use this when errors occur.

If there really is no need for you to mess with your registry, then don’t. Even the most computer and software literate person can mess up if they’re not careful. As a wise old proverb says: If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.

The Internet is a big network of computers, you can get a lot of information and some free downloads. And in downloading free program applications or other items from the net, you might infect your pc with viruses and spywares.

One of the biggest threats for those who use the Internet is the spyware. A variety of corrupted minds are sending malicious programs to your computer without your consent in order to collect important information from your computer. And much to your surprise your computer is already screwed up and you will find out that there is an unauthorized transaction in your credit card.

Usually spywares are dispersed through freeware and shareware that can be downloaded for free. This spyware is embedded to the software that you download for free and it is in a hidden format so you will not know that it’s already installed in your pc. If you have a spyware detector on your computer the spyware scanner will warn you about the software that you will download has a malware.

Spyware detector is a software program that works by detecting if there is any malicious program running in your computer. This task is not easy, when a spyware hits your computer it will slow down your computer. And to prevent such problem before it happen let the anti-spyware program do its job. It will systematically search your computer so that it will find if there are any spywares installed. The registry is the first thing that it will check and after that it will check your hard drives. There might be a lot of spywares running on your computer, make sure that your spyware detector can detect all kinds of spyware. Also anti-spyware programs will clean traces of spywares to protect your system form further attacks when you are online.

Keep your anti-spyware up to date, because creators of spyware tend to create different kinds of spyware so that they will be hard to detect. You should understand that spywares always change. They tend to evolve in a daily basis and they become more powerful. In this way you should select a spyware that is capable of updating the latest features to detect the latest spyware programs. A good suggestion is keeping your firewall always turned on.

If you are using an internet or a computer in a network, spyware detector is a very useful tool. Once a spyware is detected, you can remove it by using the spyware removal program. A lot of Software Companies expand and sell internet security products that provide spyware detection programs for free. Nevertheless, to have a 100% spyware free computer you should get the full version the anti-spyware program. This also protects you from getting fraud antispyware programs because a licensed program has a guarantee of providing a quality service unlike free antispyware which has a risk of an embedded spyware.

You need not to be a professional to know that a problem is taking its toil with your computer the instance when you start to experience computer slow down or several pop up windows on the screen that display error messages. The occurrence of even one of these scenarios is enough to demand treatment of the Windows XP Registry. This is the reason why you enjoy the high speed computer you have when it is still new, however as time passed by and a lot of information passes and left the system, it will lose its normal function. Basically, the Windows XP settings are located on the operating system’s registry therefore if you aim to preserve it, the registry content should be safeguarded first.

Most computer enthusiasts love to hack Windows XP registry, don’t worry this is a legal act although hacking itself is against the law. Nevertheless before you do the tweaking procedure; it is advisable that you learn first the importance of backing up files. This is extremely essential so you do not end in great regret the moment you lost some needed files and data. One possible method of backing up the registry is to make a System Restore snapshot that will allow the computer to go back to the earlier snapshot but devoid from losing personal information. This trick is advisable for people who would want to monitor the computer and various other applications. However, this procedure is somewhat unreliable if you would like to rollback all those data that had been changed for quite a long time.

Another step to do before tweaking with your Windows XP Registry is by means of exporting. Simply press on the Start menu and you can click afterwards the Run. After, go to the Open box and type regedit then press OK. Go to the key that you want to edit and go to the File menu and press on Export. Within the Save box, find the location where you opt to pit the Registration Entries. Then, write the file name and click Save. By this time, you are done with the Registry backup.

By now, you are ready for editing the windows XP Registry wherein you can edit manually within the Microsoft Windows. In the Windows directory, simply run the regedit.exe or regedt32.exe. Be extra careful however when doing this and never attempt to tweak with the settings if you are novice on the said field. Hasty registry editing would end up in permanent damage of the system thus this is where the importance of having a backup comes into the scene. You can search the web for several optimizations as well as “hacking” programs that could help adjust this section of Windows operating system. But still, it is sensible not to employ any of these tools except if you have a good comprehension of them. Never ever take the risk, let an experienced technician help you out in the process. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Working with the registry on computer requires someone to have a thorough background of what registry is all about. In its simplest explanation, it is particularly a database that can be utilized by an application in order to retrieve or store configuration data. Moreover, it is also equipped with information which deals with Windows 95/98/NT as well as their configuration. It contains different class that possesses members which will allow admission to the registry keys. To better understand what the registry key is, it should be classified as this:

• CurrentUser – This is use to take note of each user’s preferences.
• LocalMachine – Stock information for local machine.
• ClassesRoot – Save information in terms of types and properties of the files.
• Users – Deals with the default user configuration.
• PerformanceData – Perform the task of storing data about software components.
• CurrentConfig – Saves non-user-specific hardware configuration.
• DynData -Use for dynamic data storage

Now, working with the registry on computer most especially if it had been corrupted is not fairly an easy task and so pc owner should thank the fact that it is quite an infrequent phenomenon. However, this problem may take its peak particularly when the profile of the owner is in its roaming type wherein it houses on a lot of servers as well as it is downloaded locally. When you are in a roaming setting, you’ll go in a roaming setting, you’ll goin to ‘roam’ from one machine to another and while you are doing such, you are getting the specific application of each machine. Moreover, a profile may also be destroyed once a user has the habit of turning off the computer directly instead of waiting until the logoff process is finished.

There are some things that you must do in order to recover corrupted registry. However, it is not advisable than an inexperience one in terms of computer functionality should attempt to try working with the registry on computer because he could most likely be lost during the process given that it is entirely a tiring and complicated task. It is always better to leave the work to a professional to avoid committing problems along the way.

Tired of having a lot of spyware on your computer? Well it is really very annoying having a lot of spyware on a computer. These software applications install themselves into the operating system without the knowledge of the owner and they can monitor your computer activities and get important or confidential information on your computer. Free downloaded games, application programs, movies and mp3 are the ones who most often carry these spywares on a computer which can cause considerable damage to your machine.

Another way on how spyware can intrude your computer is through emails. If you received an email from an unknown sender with an attachment, don’t ever open these unknown emails with because they may carry spyware or some viruses that may infect your computer. Spyware is very harmful to your computer. They can get user’s record or even every bit of the data. After getting those data it will be sent to the creator and use it for whatever illegal purpose they have on their mind. That is why there are a lot of cases of identity theft and credit card fraud every year.

And without any protection your computer may experience extremely slow processing and the worst thing to happen is that it will crash repeatedly, act weird, and display a lot of error messages.

Many people have experience these kinds of problems in their computer. Thus, they try to find antispyware on the internet, and for a person who doesn’t have enough money to buy antispyware, they usually go for totally free spyware removal. A lot of computer users go for free downloads not knowing that some of the creators of spyware use this opportunity to create “free” spyware removal to distribute it on the internet. Even if you know that there is a great risk that spywares can intrude your computer from downloading free wares you still go ahead and download the software because it is free. And at the end of this you will regret it because it gives a lot of problem on your computer.

Actually there is no such thing as totally free spyware removal tool. If there is, you might encounter the problem mention above. When it comes in protecting your computer from spyware, don’t rely to a totally free spyware removal because usually they don’t work.

You should rather go to reputable companies that charge you money for programs. Their reputation is your assurance that their software will protect your computer from spywares. Of course if you pay for the service you should get the quality service that you are looking for. So the next time you look for an antispyware program, better look for a program that asks for a payment rather than having a totally free antispyware that will hack your information and will give a lot problems on your computer. You can try to check it online and there are a lot of totally free spyware removals that you can choose to suit your needs.

If you do not have any knowledge when it comes to the computer then you would probably be unaware about the term, computer registry. Basically, it is a catalog or perhaps a reference source of the computer, located in Windows 9X, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows CE, and the Windows XP operating systems. If for example, you try to open one program, the word processor will then send signal to the registry in order for the later to look where such program is stored.

The registry basically embraces references in terms of settings as well as values for the operating system. Moreover, it also contains programs, property sheet settings, document types, user profiles, system hardware and ports. In short, everything which comes in and you’re your computer needs to pass first the registry.

So how important is the registry? It’s simply the heart of the computer, remove it and the computer will be good as waste. Finding the computer registry entails an individual to have even a slight knowledge about computer. Only those who possess wide knowledge on how the system works must attempt to amend this and might as well keep in mind that before interfering with the registry, one should have all the needed information and files since they may be cleaned out from the pc. When a problem come a long while you are tampering with the registry and you failed to back up, you won’t be able to retrieve all the needed information for the computer to function as it is.

Since the computer is merely a machine, it is susceptible to daily wear and tear. With this, it requires frequent cleaning. Good thing, finding computer registry is not a problem anymore since there are several of these available on the internet, there may even be programs that you could use in order to clean them. Most sites would give this for free and some would even offer free scan in order to see the errors that should be repaired beforehand.

The result of the scan would be your main basis in finding computer registry which will be good for you. However, if you are not convinced enough of the result then you can as well try other cleaners so you could measure up to the result from one another.

Most computer-skilled individual would highly recommended that each computer owner would try to run a registry cleaner’s can from time to time specially during moment when they expect some problem with their PC. What are the possible signs that you need to clean your registry? Basically, when you tend to realize that the computer would function slowly or you see that an error message is flashing on your screen most of the time; these are enough to warrant you to make use of cleaners.

Once you experience any of these, do not attempt to shake the issue off your sleeves, act right ahead. Finding computer registry cleaner is easy since most computer sites would offer them for free but beware of false ones since it can create more problems that what you have now.
